GET HEALTHY IDAHO

Get Healthy Idaho is an innovative grant focused on upstream solutions to health challenges. In 2020, the grant was awarded to Central District Health and the Elmore County Health Coalition (ECHC) to address chronic disease challenges by removing barriers to health and wellness in Elmore County.

Through a needs assessment conducted in Elmore County, citizens expressed a desire to increase behavioral health service opportunities and options; prevent disease through access to physical activity; and improve resources to address the costs of living and other issues relating to poverty within Elmore County. An action plan was created to address the needs shared in the assessment, focusing on improving health care access by creating connections with Community Health Workers and Community Health EMS, promoting active transportation resources among transportation infrastructure, and increasing physical activity through increased access to open space and trails.

The implementation of these action items will continue through May 2025.
