April 21, 2025, Boise, ID – An assessment of the Greater Treasure Valley’s overall community health is underway, and residents in Ada, Elmore, Boise, Valley, Adams, Canyon, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, and Washington counties can participate through an online anonymous survey.

The Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) is a private-public initiative convened by the Western Idaho Community Health Collaborative (WICHC) with participation and funding from partner organizations including Central District Health, Saint Alphonsus Health System, Southwest District Health, St. Luke’s Health System, Terry Reilly, United Way of Treasure Valley, and Weiser Memorial Hospital.

“It’s important for residents to take this survey because it offers us direct, local input on how WICHC, community partners, and local health care providers can make the Treasure Valley a healthier place to live,” said Berenice Medina, Community Health Strategist, WICHC. “Your feedback will help us to better understand what we can do to create positive change in people’s health and quality of life.”

The survey, administered by Metopio, takes less than 10 minutes to complete and will be open through May 31, 2025. Survey results will be used to better understand the health needs of Idahoans and aid in the development of strategies to address the most pressing health challenges across southwest Idaho. The anonymous survey is available at https://linktr.ee/MetopioSurveys.

All responses to the survey questions are anonymous. To thank community members for completing the survey, 30 participants will be entered into a raffle to win $20 gift cards. Winners will be notified in June via email.

“It is critical for Saint Alphonsus, healthcare partners, and other community organizations to hear directly from those whose voices are often missed about their greatest challenges and opportunities in our communities, said Rebecca Lemmons Community Health & Well-Being Regional Director, Saint Alphonsus Health System. “The data from these public surveys help us work together to determine where we can invest our time, programs, funding, and efforts to help our neighbors who need us most.”

This survey is an opportunity to help improve the health of our communities. Through it, we can understand the most current, significant health challenges people in our region are facing, ” said Angie Gribble, St. Luke’s senior director of community health and engagement. “Those needs can differ across the communities we serve, and with this direct input, we can create strategies that are the most appropriate fit for each unique community – whether that’s expanding access to community-based services, focusing on prevention strategies, improving environmental factors that influence health, or other needs identified through the assessment.”
