How it Works

For over 45 years, Nurse-Family Partnership has helped improve maternal health, child development, and long-term family stability. The program focuses on early support so families have the tools and resources they need to thrive.

Nurse-Family Partnership connects each family with a specially trained registered nurse. Nurses provide guidance, check on the health of both mom and baby, and help spot concerns early. They also support parents as they build skills, make healthy choices, and find resources in their community.

Families work with the same nurse for about two and a half years. This time allows a strong, trusting relationship to grow. Nurses get to know each family and meet them where they are, offering support that fits their goals and hopes for the future. Along the way, they share guidance on healthy pregnancy, child development, and parenting, while helping families build a stable and healthy path forward.

Nurse-Family Partnership focuses on the health and well-being of both the parent and the child. When parents have the support, knowledge, and resources they need, they are better able to raise healthy and happy children. This approach helps families build strong foundations, break unhealthy cycles, and create better opportunities for the future.

Yes. Nurse-Family Partnership is private and focused on supporting families. Immigration status is not shared and does not affect eligibility. The goal is to make sure every family has access to care and support during pregnancy and early childhood.
