Andrea Gilman, LCSW, EMDR-T, joined Central District Health as the new Behavioral Health Clinician with Family and Clinic Services.
Andrea, a licensed Clinical Social Worker, has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and master’s in social work from Boise State University.
She has worked for multiple non-profits in the Treasure Valley, as well as for the Department of Corrections, Department of Health and Welfare, and the Veterans Administration.
“My approach to behavioral health emphasizes the mutual development of goals for therapy, along with an ongoing evaluation of the therapeutic relationship,” she said.
Andrea utilizes mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, play/interactive therapy, polyvagal therapy, and eye-movement desensitization reprocessing therapy (EMDR-T), and is invested in an integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health.
When not at work she enjoys spending time with family & friends, anything sci-fi, baking, traveling, and lounging around on a Sunday afternoon. She listens to a variety of music and counts several television shows and films as her “guilty pleasures.”
