The programs impacted by this change are:
  • WIC applicants who are not on Medicaid, SNAP, or TAFI
  • Clinic services for which a sliding scale is used
  • Licenses and permits for food establishments
  • Licenses and permits for septic onsite, pumper and installer services

CDH Director Announces Summer Retirement Date

BOISE, March 20, 2026 – Central District Health’s longtime Director will retire after 23 years of service. Russell Duke submitted his notice of retirement at today’s Board of Health meeting during an executive session.

His last official day will be July 2, and he will support the agency and Board throughout the recruitment process and stay to help whoever is selected as the new director transition into the position.

Director Duke has served in roles in public health for the past 33 years. He spent 13 with the state and the remainder as Director of Central District Health where he has been a focused and dedicated leader.

Duke says” Working alongside the staff at CDH has been the highlight of my career. I’m deeply grateful for the relationships, shared purpose, and accomplishments achieved during my tenure.”
